Brooke Wayne is a Toronto-based artist and writer, whose practice draws from a lifelong passion of science fiction into the realms of astronomy and science. Her ambiguous paintings combine imagination and reality, as well as the sublime and construction, to fuse together art and science. Through research and art, Brooke seeks towards a continued exploration of the vast, expansive void of cosmos, to find our place in the universe and beyond.

Cosmological Fantasias is a collaboration between Deanna McCaw and Brooke Wayne, bringing together two artists who utilize different media and working methodologies. Dynamic and hybridized images are created, combining both acrylic and oil paint in an exploration that compliments and contrasts their individual practices.

Brooke is a graduate of OCAD University's Drawing and Painting program with a minor in English. Brooke has exhibited in the Norman Felix Art Gallery, the Inclusive Design Institute, Gallery 1313 and Project Gallery, as well as publishing creative work by the university press. She is currently a member of Akin Studios Collective.

When Brooke is not freelancing or painting in her studio, you can often find her in local coffee shops, lifting weights at the gym, or conquering mountains in the outdoors.
